Hello all.! 👋 today’s dinner is simple with poori,potato masal and moong dal halwa for which I have the recipe already in here.as we all have become conscious about health and decide to skip oily items we miss the main tiffen which we used to eat generously when we were kids.. and preferably mosskuvom with lot of sugar for one poori 😁 or sometimes with chakari nei or sauce 🙈
Now it’s for the potato masal and poori but am sorry I don’t have the step by step picture today.!!!!
Ingredients for masal
Potato-4
Onion-1 big
Green chili-1
Ginger-1/4 piece
Curry leaves
Oil-2 tbsp
Mustard-1/4tsp
Urud dal-1/2 tsp
Cumin-1/4 tsp
Turmeric powder-1/4 tsp
Salt-1/2tsp
Lemon-1/2 sliced
Optional-(tomato,coriander leaves)
Method:
Boil the potatoes in pressure cooker with one whistle.
In a pan add oil,then followed by mustard,urud dal,cumin, curry leaves, green chili and ginger.
Then add the chopped onions/ can be sliced ones too.!
Sauté them together.
Add turmeric and salt and sauté them for 3 mins.
Then mash the potatoes with hands and then add it to the onions.
And then add 1/2 glass of water to it and allow it to boil for 5 mins.
Then squeeze the lemon juice and then the hot masal is ready to serve with poori,chapathi,even best with dosa.
Ingredients for poori:
Wheat flour/atta-2 cups
Warm water-1/2 cup
Sooji/rawa-1 tbsp
Ghee-1/4 tsp
Salt-1/2tsp
Oil- for frying
Method:
In a bowl add warm water then add the above ingredients and mix well.. knead the dough and roll into small roti piece and deep fry and hot poori’s are ready to eat.!
For poori do knead and fry immediately as poori tend to become harder when we try to keep the dough for sometime.
