Always when we think of a quick side dish dal is one of the item which will hit my mind as it’s also easy as a mom to make your kids eat the same 😜 and today I did avoid the addition of vegetables to the dal but added black bean to it..
Masoor dal are always healthy and nutritious.. and they taste great too..
So let’s get on to the recipe.!
Ingredients
Masoor dal-1 cup
Onion-1 big
Black bean-1/4cup
Green chili-2
Oil-1tbsp
Turmeric-1/2 Tsp
Asafetida-1/4tsp
Salt as needed
Kashmiri red chili powder-1/2tsp
Kitchen king masala-1tsp
Kasuri methi-1tsp
Dry mango powder-1/4 tsp
Chaat masala powder-1/4tsp
To temper
Ghee-1tbsp
Garlic-3 cloves
Mustard-1/4 tsp
Cumin-1/4tsp
Carom seeds-1/4tsp
Sesame seeds-1/4tsp
Method
Soak and pressure cook black bean and strain..
Then pressure cook Masoor dal well and keep it aside..
In a pan add oil.. then the green chili and onions and sauté well for 2 mins
Add turmeric and salt to it and add the mashed dal to it..
Add 1/2 cup of water,black bean and asafetida..
Then add the Kashmiri Mirch and the kitchen king masala and cook for 4 mins and then add kasuri methi to it..
You can also add coriander leaves.
Then add dry mango powder and chaat masala powder and cook for a min and switch of the flame..
Now tadka time..(tempering)
Add ghee to a pan and the add crushed garlic,mustard,cumin,carom seeds and sesame seeds..
And garnish on top of dal..
Serve hot with chawal (rice) ,jeera rice,roti any thing of your choice..!
