Gajar ka halwa (Carrot halwa)

Carrot halwa/Gajar ka halwa: ⬇️

A famous recipe in India for most of the festive’s and occasions. It’s very tasty and irresistible. As its winter was craving to have this hot halwa (sweet) drizzled with nuts and raisins..

Recipe ⬇️

•Pressure cook shredded carrots (4 large carrots) soaked in milk (3/4 cup) with one whistle

•Once the pressure is done transfer the carrots with milk to a nonstick pan and keep stirring on medium flame (don’t burn the carrots) add a strand of saffron to it.

•When the milk is absorbed completely add 1/2 cup of sugar and 1/2 cup of milk maid (condensed milk) to it and stir well until the milk evaporates and carrots become glossy and fine with a halwa texture.

•Then add 1/2 tsp of cardamom powder and mix well.

•In a small pan add 2 tbsp of ghee and to it add 1 tsp of cashew, 1/2 tsp of raisins and 1 tsp of broken almonds (you can use the store bought too) and garnish on top of the halwa. Serve hot and enjoy the yummy sweet 😊🤤
