Rajma / Red kidney beans is a bean variety which is healthy and used for many dishes.
It comes out in seeds packet as well cooked can form.
Can be used either ways.
Here I have used the can. Which is soaked and cooked already.
Rajma /Red kidney Bean- 1 tin
Onions- 2 nos
Tomato purée – 1/2 cup
Ginger garlic paste- 1 tablespoon
Turmeric powder- 1/2 teaspoon
Salt as needed
Kashmiri red chili powder- 1 tablespoon
Coriander powder- 1 teaspoon
Cumin powder – 1 teaspoon
Garam masala powder – 1 teaspoon (Curry powder)
Cumin seeds -1 teaspoon
Kasuri methi -2 teaspoons
Coriander leaves – little to garnish
Ghee -2 teaspoons
Butter- a chunk
1. In a pan add the ghee, add the cumin seeds, chopped onions and sauté for few mins. Add ginger garlic paste and salt.
2. Add turmeric powder and chili powder and cook the onions until translucent and then add coriander powder and cumin powder. Then add the tomato purée and add 3/4 cup of water to it. Also add garam masala powder /curry powder.
3. Cook it for 5 mins and add the kidney beans and cover with lid and cook for 5 more mins.
4. Add kasuri methi and coriander leaves and add the butter chunk and serve hot with rice, rotis and pulav.
