Misal

Misal is a Maharashtrian dish.. made with sprouted or boiled moth/chori(brown lentil)

A spicy dish mixed with curry powder and blend of onions,tomatoes and coconut.. and the basic ginger garlic and chili paste.. and finally garnished with chiwda or sev.

It’s served with pav,bread roll and along with some spiced Chas or yoghurt..

Ingredients:

Onion-1

Coconut-1/2 cup

Tomato-1

Green chili-1/2

Ginger-1/4 piece

Garlic-2 cloves

Turmeric-1/4tsp

Red chili powder-1/2tsp

Garam masala-1tsp

Lemon-1/2

Ghee-1tsp

Chiwda & sev -to garnish

Method:

In a pan add a teaspoon of oil or ghee and add chopped onions and coconut.

Sauté it for 5 mins and let it cool and add it to the blender .

Then to it add chopped tomatoes,turmeric,red chili,garlic,ginger and green chili paste,garam masala and make it into a purée

Then add that in pan and add some water. Allow it to boil for 5 mins and add the boiled chori and then let it stay for 3 more mins and squeeze some lemon to t and a dash of ghee.

Garnish with chiwda and sev..

Serve hot with pav or bread roll..
