Kichdi is a very simple,easy and healthy dish.. probably made for kids.. can add some different flavors to it..
Made this palak kichdi which is again a quick recipe..
Ingredients
Rice-1/2 cup
Moong dal-1/3 cup
Palak-1 cup
Onion-1
Tomato-1
Ginger -1/4 piece
Green chili-1
Turmeric-1/2tsp
Pepper powder-1tsp
Salt as needed
Garam masala-1/2 tsp
Oil-2 tsp
To temper:
Ghee-1tbsp
Mustard-1/2tsp
Cumin-1tsp
Method
Pressure cook rice and dal together.. release the steam and mash well..
In a pan add water and boil palak for 3 mins and wash well in cold water and purée it..
Then in a pan add oil,green chili,ginger..
Then add onion and tomatoes..
Sauté for 3 mins by adding turmeric,pepper and salt..
Then to it add garam masala powder and the palak purée
Then add lil sugar for not changing the color..
Then add the cooked dal rice to it..
Mix well.. and then do the tempering..
And serve hot with potato fry and chips..
