Thandai is one of the most favorite Bhang for lord shiva.. and today being Maha shivratri its an auspicious day to celebrate with this Prashad to the lord.
Ingredients:
Almonds-20
Cashews-7
Pistachio-8
Poppy seeds-1tsp
Melon seeds-1tsp
Saffron-a little
Milk-3cups
Sugar-1/2cup
To powder:
Fennel seeds-1tsp
Pepper-10
Cardamom-3
Method:
Soak the nuts and melon seeds and poppy seeds for two hours. Then In a pan add the milk and sugar and bring it to a boil.. grind the nuts and make it as a paste and add it to the milk and allow them to boil in medium to low flame. Powder the ingredients mentioned below the powdered column and add them to the milk and add saffron.. stir well and let it boil for 5 mins. Strain then milk and store it in refrigerator for 3 hours or overnight and serve chill.
It’s an excellent drink and you can also add turmeric to it if you want. Nutritious and healthy too.
You can also reduce the pepper corns if you think will be spicy. But for me it was not and it was great.
