Arachuvita sambar

Ingredients:

Lady’s finger-1 cup

Tomato-1

Tamarind juice-1 cup

Thuvar dal-1 cup

Mustard-1/4tsp

Fenugreek-1/4tsp

Turmeric-1/4tsp

Rock salt-1tbsp

Sambar powder-1/4tsp

To fry and grind:

Chana dal–1tsp

Coriander seeds-1/2tsp

Red chili-3 to 4

Pepper corns-4 to 5

Asafetida-1/3 tsp

Coconut-2tbsp

Method:

Pressure cook dal and mash it and keep it aside.

In a pan add 1tsp of oil and add the fry and grind ingredients and the make them into smooth powder..without adding water.

Then in the same pan add oil and then add mustard,fenugreek curry leaves and then add the vegies and add tamarind juice.

Then add turmeric,salt,asafetida and sambar powder. After 5 minutes add the grounded powder and allow it to boil until the vegies are cooked and then add the mashed thuvar dal to it.

Then add curry leaves and coriander leaves and drizzle a spoon of ghee.and hot sambar is ready..

Serve this with idly,dosa,rice.!
