Ingredients
Brinjal-150 gms
Oil-2 tbsp
Mustard-1/4 tsp
Urud dal-1/2 tsp
Curry leaves
Asafetida-1/4tsp
Turmeric powder-1/4 tsp
Salt as needed
To make curry powder:
Oil-1tsp
Red chili-2
Chana dal-2 tsp
Pepper corns-5 to 6
Coriander seeds-2tsp
Asafetida- 1/3tsp
Method:
In a pan add little oil and add the ingredients listed below how to make curry powder for this.
Then ground them into powder and keep aside.
Two methods are there to make this. Just take brinjal wash it and cut cris cross and stuff the grounded powder and saute.
Second as I did.
I sliced the brinjal and then in a pan add oil,mustard,urud dal, curry leaves,and then the brinjal and then add turmeric powder,salt,asafetida and close it with lid and cook for 5 to 7 mins on medium to low flame.
Then add the grounded curry powder to it and stir for 2 mins and then hot brinjal / kathirikai podi thuval is ready.
Best combo with rice.. and yummy mixed with rice or curd rice 🤤
