Chana palak (chickpea in green purée)

Chana palak is a healthy and tasty side dishes goes well with roti,paratha ,naan,even pulav and jeera rice.!

Kids will also love to eat.. it’s just the same version of palak paneer but instead of paneer I added Chana..

Moving on the recipe.!

Ingredients

Palak-2 cups

Water-1/2 cup

Chickpea(white Chana) -1 cup

Onion-1

Tomato-1

Ginger & garlic paste -1 tbsp

Green chili-2

Coriander powder-1 tsp

Cumin powder-1 tsp

Garam masala powder-1 tsp

Kasuri methi-1 tsp

Lemon-1/2

Dry mango powder-1/2 tsp

Oil-2tsp

Ghee-1 tbsp

Cumin-1 tsp

Carom seeds-1/2tsp

Sesame seeds-1/2 tsp

Method:

Soak chickpea/Chana over night and pressure cook before cooking it.. strain and keep aside.

Wash palak (greens) and boil in water for three mins.. wash with cold water and add it to the blender along with green chilies and purée it.

In a pan add oil,chopped onions,ginger garlic paste..

Cook for 2 mins and then add the chopped tomatoes and salt to it..

Then add the cooked purée..

To it add coriander powder ,cumin and garam masala powder and cook for 5mins..

Then add the cooked Chana to it and also add crushed Kasuri Methi..

Then a little bit of sugar..

Then to it add the dry mango powder,and lemon juice..mix well and switch off the flame..

In a pan add the tempering items to the ghee..

Cumin seeds,carom seeds and sesame seeds..

Garnish on top of the Chana palak..

Hot dish is ready to be served with anything you prefer or have mentioned initially..!
