Kothamali Thogayal /Coriander dip

Coriander thogayal (kothamali thogayal)

As it’s easy and every one knows to make this it’s not anyway innovative or special.. but it’s healthy and good to consume.

Simple steps.. 👇🏾

In a pan add 1 tsp of oil/ghee to it add 2 tsp of urud dal, 6 pepper corns, 2 to 3 red chilies , and sauté them.. I added 1/2 tsp of thuvar dal too and 1/2 tsp of asafetida powder.

Wash and clean a bunch of coriander leaves. I don’t like to sauté the leaves as the fresh taste and smell of the leaves will get lost and even the color. To sustain them I just wash thoroughly and chop and add it to blender and to it add the sautéed items and 1 tbsp of grated coconut, 1 tsp of tamarind paste (or a small tamarind piece) and salt to taste.

Add 1/3 piece of fresh ginger to it and then grind it by adding 2tbsp of water. And all done and good to go with rice, idly, dosa and curd rice 🙈

INCREASE THE CHILIES ACCORDING TO YOUR SPICE LEVEL. RED CHILIES CAN BE SUBSTITUTED WITH GREEN TOO.
