Coconut podi

Ingredients:

Grated coconut/Desicated coconut-1cup

Red chili-5

Urud dal-3 to 4 tbsp

Asafetida powder – 1/2tsp

Rock salt for taste

Method:

In a pan add 1tbsp of oil and add red chilies and asafetida.. then add urud dal and sauté it for a minute and when it’s changing color add the grated coconut and fry it for a minute and switch off the flame. Allow it to cool down and blend it in mixer adding salt..

Tastes good with hot rice and gingely oil/ghee.
