Pulav and channa masala

Pulav:

Rice -1 cup(cooked)

Vegies choice-carrots,beans,peas,potato

Onion-1

Green chili-1

Turmeric-1/4tsp

Salt-1tsp

Garam masala-1tsp

Saffron – a pinch

Ghee-1tbsp

Coriander leaves

Method:

I used only peas and carrot as my kids won’t take much vegies 😦

So here we go for a very simple one as preferred by kids.

Pressure cook the rice and keep aside.

Boil the vegies and then in a pan add ghee, then add onions and green chili and sauté well. (I dint use ginger and garlic paste but please add them for a nice flavor)

Then add turmeric and salt to it and then add the boiled vegies..

then add saffron and the garam masala powder and sauté in high for two mins and add the rice.. keep it in low for couple of minutes and then garnish with coriander leaves.

Very simple and tasty too..

For a little flavor we can add cardamom powder while saluting the onions.

Channa masala:

Channa-(white or black) 1 cup

Onions-1

Tomato-1

Puréed tomato-1/2 cup

Ginger & Garlic paste-1tbsp

Coriander powder-1tsp

Garam masala-1/2 tsp

Channa masala powder-1tsp

Red chili powder-1/2 tsp

Dry mango powder-1/4tsp

Chaat masala powder-1/4tsp

Lemon-1/2

Sev-1tbsp

Ghee-2tbsp

Coriander leaves

Optional- sesame seeds,Carom seeds and cumin seeds.

Method:

Soak the channa over night and pressure cook in the morning with two whistles

Then in a pan add ghee and the chopped onions.

Then add the ginger garlic paste and sauté well.

Add turmeric powder , salt and chili powder..sauté for two minutes and then add the chopped tomatoes.

Then to it add coriander powder and the tomato puree.

Then after two to three mins add the pressure cooked channa water and add garam masala powder and allow it to boil for five minutes

Then add the cooked channa and channa masala powder.

Then to it add the dry mango powder and chaat masala and cook for 3 minutes and then squeeze lemon and garnish with coriander leaves.

Atlast in a pan add ghee and then add cumin, sesame seeds and carom seeds and add them to the channa masala.

As channa by nature creates gas in your stomach adding the carom seeds will reduce it and it’s always tasty and good to add for pulses dish and potato dish.

Sesame seeds enhances the flavor too by adding to dishes.

Atlast while serving add sev on top of the channa and some raw onions too.

Serve hot as it is or with roti, phulka, paratha, pulav, jeera rice or even pav or bread or curd rice..

Will be delicious And tasty 🤤

Enjoy guys.. ! Have a good day..!
