Rama navami is a special day and a spring Hindu festival which celebrates the birthday of Lord Rama.
He’s particularly important to the Vaishnavism tradition of the Hinduism and seventh avatar of Lord Vishnu.
It is celebrated on the 9th day of chaitra navratri which is shukla paksha navami
So I stop here with the details of Rama navami..
but he’s such a special and close to my heart God and I would love to do this for him.. such a blessing for me to celebrate it every year with out fail. 😊
By providing the offerings to the Lord on this occasion.
1.Panagam( sweet jaggery water mixed with a hint of cardamom and dry ginger)
2.Maanga parupu( raw mango tossed with soaked moong dal and chilies and lemon juice)
3.Neer mor( spiced buttermilk)
4.Kesari(sooji ka halwa)
5:Vada(Urud dal Vada)
In a vessel add jaggery powder/jaggery bar. Add water and mix well. Filter the jaggery water and add dry ginger powder and cardamom to it.
Chopped raw mango,cucumber,add soaked moong dal (soak for 20mins), chopped green chili,coriander leaves,curry leaves and a hint of lemon juice and salt. Toss everything together and serve.
Neer mor(spiced buttermilk)
In a blender add yoghurt,mint leaves,coriander leaves,green chili and ginger, asafetida,salt,ice cubes and water and blend on high. And add some curry leaves and temper with mustard seeds.
Kesari(Sooji ka halwa)
Add ghee in a pan and fry cashews and raisins and keep aside and in the same pan add sooji(rawa) and fry well and add orange color powder(food color) and add water and allow it to cook and then add sugar.. mix without lumps by stirring it adding ghee in between.add some saffron’s and then garnish with the fried cashews and raisins.
