Vepampoo kuzhambu

A very healthy and a tasty kuzhambu that can be made quickly and even kids will love this..

Neem flower(vepampoo) has health benefits and along with it the other spices in this recipe adds flavor to our taste buds..

Ingredients

Vepampoo-2tsp

Tomato purée -1 cup

Turmeric-1/2 tsp

Salt as per taste

Water -1/2 cup

Ghee-2tbsp

Mustard-1/2 tsp

Fenugreek seeds-1/4tsp

Asafetida -1/2tsp

Curry leaves

Dry roast:

Red chili-2

Pepper corns-1tsp

Thuvar dal-2 1/2 tsp

Fenugreek seeds-1/2 tsp

Cumin-1tsp

Curry leaves-2 strands

Method:

Purée two tomatoes and keep aside.

In a pan add the dry roast items and sauté and make it as a coarse powder and keep it aside..

In a pan add the ghee and to it add mustard,fenugreek and curry leaves.. Add vepampoo and sauté well.. you can feel nice aroma..

To it add the puréed tomatoes and then asafetida,turmeric,salt and allow it to boil for 5 mins. Then add the grounded powder and allow it to boil further for 5 to 7 mins..

Drizzle on top with some more ghee or gingely oil and serve hot with rice..
