A regular Brinjal vegetable tossed with some broccoli for a unique taste.
It’s very simple and tasty. And goes well with rice and dosa.
As you all know Broccoli is very healthy and has good health benefits adding it to your diet daily maintains a healthy life.
So into the recipe now.
INGREDIENTS:
- Brinjal -100 gms
- Broccoli-1 cup
- Onion-2
- Tomato-1
- Oil/ghee-3 tsp
- Mustard -1tsp
- Urud dal-1 tsp
- Cumin-1 tsp
- Turmeric -1/2 tsp
- Asafetida-1/2tsp
- Salt as needed
- Red chili powder-1/2 tsp
- Rasam powder-1/2 tbsp(homemade)
METHODOLOGY:
- In a pan add oil and to it add the mustard,cumin,urud dal. Allow it to splutter and then add sliced onions and tomatoes.
- Meanwhile boil Brinjal for 5 mins in water (it’s a choice and you can skip this step)
- Then to the onion and tomato add turmeric, salt and red chili powder.
- Then add the broccoli and cover with lid and cook on medium to low for 3 mins.
- Then add the Brinjal and add the rasam powder and cook for 3 more mins.
- Drizzle with a teaspoon of ghee and serve hot with rice/dosa as mentioned above.
